If your concrete driveway or patio has been invaded by moss or algae, you're probably pulling your hair out wondering how to get rid of the unsightly mess. Never fear, the solution is quick and easy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Stiff-bristled broom
  • Chlorine bleach
  • Power washer (optional)
  1. Step 1

Mix 1 cup vinegar with 1 gallon hot water in a bucket. Scrub the concrete with a stiff-bristled broom, using plenty of the vinegar solution. Rinse well with a garden hose.

  2. Step 2

Bleach is the key to more stubborn areas of moss and algae on your concrete. Mix 1 cup bleach with 1 gallon water, and apply liberally to the paved area. Let it soak for about 1/2 hour, then rinse with a hose.

  3. Step 3

Power washing is the fastest way to remove moss and algae from concrete. If you don't have a power washer, you can rent one at most home improvement centers. Use a medium spray on the concrete, and the green will be gone in minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always wear eye protection while using harsh chemicals.
  • Do not splash bleach on skin or clothing. Read the warnings on the bottle before you use it.
