Bath fizzies are hard balls of herbs and other natural cleansers that you drop into your tub to make your bath smell good and to create a gentle "tea" for your skin that will make you softer, smoother and better-smelling when you get out of the bath. Cocoa bath fizzies are made with real cocoa, so taking a bath with one is kind of like having your own personal spa treatment at home. Enjoy these cocoa bath fizzies during an hour-long soak or whenever you have fifteen minutes to relax and be calm. They also make great presents and making them costs a fraction of what the identical product costs in a designer bath store. In this article, we will discuss how to make cocoa bath fizzies.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of citric acid
  • 7 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Baking soda
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Small pot
  • Spoon
  • Wax paper

How to Make Cocoa Bath Fizzies

  1. Step 1

Mix the cocoa powder, corn starch and citric acid in the mixing bowl. You can use a spoon or your hands to make sure the ingredients are fully blended.

  2. Step 2

Warm the coconut oil in the pot on the stove. Once it is warm to the touch, remove it from the heat. Do not let it bubble, pop or hiss.

  3. Step 3

Mix the coconut oil into the dry ingredients. The best way to do this is to drizzle it around the top of the mixture, then knead it into the mix using your hands.

  4. Step 4

Knead in baking soda a tablespoon at a time. As soon as you have a workable dough--one that holds its shape--stop kneading in baking soda. Do this very gently so that you do not activate the baking soda and make your bath fizzie dough start fizzing.

  5. Step 5

Form small balls with the dough. You can lay them 2 inches apart on a sheet of wax paper. You can make them as big or small as you like, but remember that exceptionally large bath fizzies will take longer to dry.

  6. Step 6
Tie a bath fizzie up in net and ribbon for an elegant present.

Dry the bath fizzies for at least 2 days. If you make huge bath fizzies, they may take longer to dry. Keep the bath fizzies dry until you are ready to drop one in your bath and enjoy a delicious, sweet-smelling, skin-refreshing soak.
