How to Use the Sansa Media Converter

The Sansa Media Converter (SMC) is a free software tool used for converting video files into a format that can be played by Sansa brand music players (made by Sandisk). Read on to learn how to use it, and soon you will be watching all your favorite videos on your Sansa

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sansa Media Converter software
  • A video-capable Sansa media player
  1. Step 1

    Visit the web link below and select your player from the drop down list.

  2. Step 2

    Select the Sansa Media Converter and download the software.

  3. Step 3

    Follow the prompts to install it.

  4. Step 4

    Run the software.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Add Media." SMC can convert the following types of media files: MPEG 1, MPEG2, AVI, dat, DVR-MS, MOV, QT, MP4, asf, wmv, 3gp/3gpp2, DivX, VOB.

  6. Step 6

    Locate the video file you wish to convert, select it, and press "Open." The file will now be added to a list in the main SMC window. You may add as many files as you like.

  7. Step 7

    Select the video, and click the "Convert" button. Wait while your file is converted. If your Sansa player is connected, and it has enough memory space, your converted video will automatically be transferred to the player. Otherwise, the file will be saved to your hard drive.
