How to determine your favorite celebrity's faceshape

A face shape or facial shape is a term used to describe the structure of your face. This typically falls into one of seven categories: Diamond, triangular, heart, square, round, rectangular and oval. Knowing the type of face you have can help you decide what type of glasses, hats, earrings and makeup that will look best on you. You can also decide what type of face you have by comparing your face with your favorite celebrity's. You can determine your favorite celebrity’s face shape by looking at her jawline and hairline.

1. Start with the oval face shape because this is the most common face shape and one that many celebrities have. Look at the celebritiy's face, paying special attention to her jaw line. If the jaw is thinner than the temple and the top of their head is rounded, then the person has an oval face shape. Cameron Diaz, Tyra Banks and Jennifer Aniston all have oval faces.

2. Look at the individual’s chin and forehead to see if the chin is thin and the forehead fairly large or high. You may also notice that she has a very long face, similar to what people used to call a horse face. If the celebrity has all of those characteristics she has a rectangular or oblong face. Celebrities with this face shape include Gwyneth Paltrow and Janet Jackson.

3. Check the celebrity to see if she has a rounder face, with a full chin and a full head of hair. You may also notice that her cheeks seem wider than any other part of their face. This face style is known as round and is fairly popular. Kate Winslet, Drew Barrymore and Christina Ricci all have round faces.

4. Examine the top of the celebrity’s face around her hair to see if her hairline is square and even. Also look at her jaw line to see if it looks square instead of rounded. If the celebrity has these characteristics, she has a square face shape. Sandra Bullock and Demi Moore both have square faces.

5. Take a look at the celebrity’s chin to see if it looks smaller than most peoples and also look to see if she has a large temple. These are all signs of a heart shaped face because it’s smaller at the bottom and wider at the top. Celebrities with a heart shaped face include Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ashley Judd.

6. Compare a celebrity with a heart shaped face to an individual with a triangular face shape and it should look inverted. A triangular face shape has a wide chin with a thinner forehead or temple area. Kathy Ireland is one celebrity with a triangular face.

7. Study the individual’s face to see if she has several components of the shapes discussed such as large cheeks with a thinner forehead and jaw. This is a description of a diamond face shape such as Sophia Loren and Katherine Hepburn.
