Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
The first thing you will need to do is consult with your baby's doctor on what foods they are allowed to have introduced into their diet. It is important to know that when introducing a new food to your baby, please wait several days before introducing a new food to ensure that your baby does not have an allergy to that specific food.
Be prepared to save money and have better tasting food for your baby!
Step2
Select fresh (not canned) sweet potatoes from your local grocer or market. Wash, peel, and dice potatoes. Simmer in water until they are fork tender. Cool slightly then transfer cooked potatoes to blender and add enough water to make a smooth puree. Be very careful while blending foods that are still hot.
Step3
Once you have reached the desired consistency, transfer puree to ice cube trays and freeze. When frozen, remove the food cubes from tray and transfer to a freezer bag or storage container and store in freezer. Store in freezer no longer than 1-3 months. Place desired number of food cubes in a serving container with lid in the refrigerator the day you plan to use it. Thaw completely before serving and gently warm if desired. Standard ice cubes are around 1oz so you can thaw what you plan on using. Use within 48 hours and do not refreeze.
