The LeapFrog Leapster L Max is a hand held electronic device that basically looks like a video game for younger children. Kids have no idea that they’re learning while they’re having fun, they just think they’re playing a new game. Sometimes the game will freeze or stop working in which case you’ll need to recalibrate the game. To calibrate the LeapFrog Leapster L Max, you’ll need to do a few things.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Leapster L Max
  • Cartridge
  1. Step 1

Place a game cartridge in the slot on the top of the screen. Push the On button and wait a few seconds for the game to load. Once it loads it will show a sign on screen that you would usually use to start up a new game.

  2. Step 2

Press the "Home", "B" and "Hint" buttons at one time. The "Home" and "Hint" buttons are on the left hand side of the game, above the directional button, while the "B" button is on the right hand side of the game.

  3. Step 3

Wait a few seconds for the screen to change to a new picture or design. As soon as this happens, push the "A" button. If you wait more than a few seconds after the screen changes, the game will load and you’ll need to turn it off and start again.

  4. Step 4

Hold the stylus in one hand (the attachment that looks like a pen) and touch it to the middle of the screen. This will calibrate your Leapster L Max and get it back in working condition again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t worry about breaking your Leapster or causing any damage by following these steps. This is what the company recommends doing when you need to calibrate the game.
