How to Break Into a Locker
You depend on that small lock on the front of your locker to protect you and to keep your valuables safe. That’s why you don’t mind leaving your cell phone, MP3 player or even your wallet inside. Since most schools, gyms and other places that use lockers typically use the same type of lock they are fairly easy to break into. You might even be surprised at how easy it is to break into a locker. There are even a few ways that you can break into a locker.

Ask a janitor or maintenance worker to break into the locker for you. Granted this only works if it’s actually your locker, but in gyms or other places of business, the janitor might not even think twice about breaking off the locker for someone.

Break into a locker by using a pair of bolt cutters to snap off the lock. All you need to do is open the bolt cutters and place them against the piece going through the locker. Close the bolt cutters and the lock will fall right off. It does take some strength though to cut the tool through the thick metal.

Purchase a set of lock picking tools online or from your hardware store. These tools can be invaluable if you’re prone to locking yourself out of your locker. The tools will come with a set of instructions to help you learn how to use them.

Place the end of a paper clip into the lock directly beside the lock. Turn the dial until you hear a loud click, which symbolizes the flat spot on the dial. With some locks you may be able to just open the lock when it reaches the flat spot.

Insert a small piece of flat metal into the lock as directed above. Twist the dial and count the clicks as it goes by. When the clicks stop, you’ve reached the flat spot so you can write that number down. Twist the dial in the opposite direction once again counting the clicks. You’ll need to do this three to four times depending on the type of lock. These numbers are the combination and you can remove the metal, enter the combination and open up the locker.

Tips & Warnings
Some states make it illegal to own lock picking tools unless you’re a professional lock picker with a licensed business. Make sure you check the laws of your state before carrying around a set.
