One of the most successful of these maneuvers is the Duck Attack. It is designed to counter an opponents lunge, and is quite an effective technique if properly executed. So, in this tutorial, we will learn how to use the Duck Attack to its full potential.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Fencing foil
Step1
Start on-guard in sixth position.

When your opponent begins their advance, remain stationary and move your blade slightly upwards.
Step3
When your opponent has begun their lunge, bend your knees and duck below their point. Be sure to keep your body as upright as possible, or you may be flagged for an obstruction of target violation.
Step4
When your opponents blade has passed harmlessly over your shoulder, drive your point into their undefended chest.
