• Tape measure
• Plastic tarp with grommets
• Pan head screws
• Drill
• Pencil
• Bucket

How to Make a Sandbox Cover

1. Measure the width and length of your sandbox.

2. Measure three-quarters of the distance of the sandbox walls. Add this number to the length and width measurements of your sandbox.

3. Purchase a plastic tarp with grommets big enough to cover your sandbox and overlap half way down the sides of the sandbox walls.

4. Place a bucket in the middle of the sandbox to prevent water from pooling on the tarp.

5. Cover the sandbox with the tarp.

6. Use the pencil to mark where the grommets land on the walls of the sandbox.

7. Use a drill to put screws where the pencil marks are. Drill screws one-half to three-quarters of the way into the wood.

8. Attach the grommets over the screws.
