How to Make a Charm

“It worked like a charm,” is a well-known phrase. A rabbit’s foot and a horseshoe are items that have been used as “lucky charms” for ages. But what, exactly, is a charm? Though many people equate charms with those little figurines that dangle from a charm bracelet, a charm is actually an item of attraction; it attracts to the user that which it has been instructed to attract by a practitioner of magic. The best charms, however, are those that you make for yourself because your own energy empowers it. Follow these steps to make your own magical charm.

Things You'll Need

• 1 bowl of dirt
• 1 bowl of water
• 1 incense stick of any scent
• 1 purple candle
• 1 smoky quartz crystal
• 1 small, square cotton cloth
• 1 needle and white thread

How to Make a Charm

1. Think about what you want to achieve with this charm. Do you want it to bring you money? Would you like it to attract your dream mate? Do you want it to bring peace into your life? Think hard about what you TRULY want and remember to be careful what you wish for because you might get it.

2. Set a bowl of water, a bowl of dirt, incense sticks/burner, white cotton square cloth, smoky quartz crystal, and needle and white thread on a small table. Light the incense and the candle.

3. Pick up the crystal and hold it over the bowl of dirt. Gaze into the crystal for a few minutes, imagining a brilliant beam of light shooting from your eyes, through the crystal, and into the bowl of dirt. This will help empower your charm.

4. Drop the crystal into the bowl of dirt, saying “Mother Earth, oh hear my plea.”

5. Pick the crystal out of the dirt, and pass it through the smoke of the incense stick, saying, “There is none more blessed than me.”

6. Pass the crystal through the candle’s flame saying, “You will bring me my desires.”

7. Drop the crystal into the bowl of water saying, “You will work and never tire.”

8. Pick the crystal out of the water and hold it in front of your eyes. Stare into the smoky quartz for five minutes, imagining your wish being fulfilled.

9. Lay the crystal in the center of the white square cotton cloth and sew the sides up around it.

10. Carry your lucky charm in your purse or in your pants pocket. Keep it with you at all times and it will bring you luck.

• Never use the same charm for different purposes. Once you designate a charm for a specific purpose, it must be used ONLY for that purpose.
