Many indoor grills claim to be nonstick. Yet, after you remove the food, there is still a mess to be cleaned. Depending on the food you cook, you will probably need to clean your indoor grill to remove grease and meat juices. As you will soon learn, timing is everything, especially if you want your small appliance to come clean easily.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wet cloth
  • Tongs
  • Sponge
  • Dish soap
  1. Step 1

Grip the cloth with the tongs. It's essential to remove grease and meat juices right after you remove the food. This ensures that everything comes off easily. While you can grip the cloth in your hand, it's best to use tongs. Holding the wet cloth in a pair of tongs will prevent you from burning yourself. The tongs will also allow you to better scrub the plates of your indoor grill.

  2. Step 2

Use the cloth and tongs to remove grease and food. With the cloth firmly gripped in the tongs, scrub the plates of the indoor grill to remove the top layer of grease and cooked meat juices. If you spend just a little bit of time scrubbing the machine before you eat it will come clean with very little effort.

  3. Step 3

Allow the machine to cool. Once you've removed the largest part of the mess, you can enjoy your meal and allow the indoor grill to cool. Because you took the time to remove most of the mess, you will be able to quickly wipe down the machine before putting it away.

  4. Step 4

Wash with sponge and soapy water. Once the machine is cool, simply wipe down the plates with a sponge and soapy water. There shouldn't be much left to clean off. This step just ensures that the machine is sanitized. Once the plates are cleaned, quickly rinse the machine.

  5. Step 5

Dry before putting away. Right after you rinse the indoor grill, dry the plates thoroughly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to unplug the machine before attempting to clean it.
  • Never use abrasive cleaners or sponges on a nonstick surface.
