How to benefit from after Christmas Sales

  1. Step 1

Start buying for up coming occasions. Cards, wrap, and other decorations are slashed from 50-80%. This is a great time to stock up for next years gift season. The great thing about these items is that they don't spoil and they are easy to store. Just stock up early and put it away until next year. Save out your red and green paper; these are the perfect colors for Valentine's and St. Patrick's days.

  2. Step 2

Check out the second hand stores. Even if you have a total aversion to second hand goods, the post holiday season is still worth a look. These stores get filled to the rafters with unwanted Christmas gifts. Most of the items are not used and many still in the original packaging. This is a great way to save loads of money on something that is essentially new.

  3. Step 3

Don't be put off by the packaging. During the Christmas season things like nuts, chocolate and other sweet party foods are specially packaged for the season. However, after the 25th of December, the novelty of the packaging wears off. These items are marked down substantially. Buying these after Christmas can keep you in snacks for the rest of the year. You'll have a constant supply of party food for the entire year.

  4. Step 4

Don't forget the drug stores. These places hold their own advantages. First, they are much less busy than major retail outlets. Second, they are usually the first to start marking their merchandise down. They may even begin in the days leading up to Christmas.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't stock up on items you can't use. A bargain isn't a bargain if it is going to collect dust in your closet.
