    Throwing a Great Spring Party

  1. Step 1

Planning a great spring party just takes a little planning (of course!), fortitude, and creativity. With these three tools, you are certain to throw a great party that will keep your guests talking for months to come.

  2. Step 2

First things first, get your guest list together. Decide upon those guests that are essential to making your party a "party" and ask them about their availability before you decide upon a date. It is ideal to send out your invitations 2-3 weeks before the party, which gives your guests ample notice. You should try send invitations via email (evites), as it is simpler to keep track of guests RSVP's and things along that nature, which will be discussed later. There are several sites that allow you to send free email invitations.

  3. Step 3

After doing this, set a budget and STICK to it. Nothing is worse than throwing a party and going over the budget. Dependant upon your preferences, you can choose to have your food catered, prepare it yourself, or have a potluck. Either brings out the beauty of Spring. If you do elect to have guests bring dishes, definitely go the evite route as it is much easier to keep track of who is bringing what, and you can even specify what you want guests to bring.

  4. Step 4

Be creative! Choose some neat spring colors to complement your home. Decorate your party area in pretty florals such as pink and green, yellow and white, lilac and pink, etc. Make your home or party venue (if you're renting out a facility) feel as welcoming as possible. Do NOT forget to buy some flowers because they make wondrous centerpieces. Create a spring mix cd compiled with artists of different musical genres as it will be sure to get your party pumping.

  5. Step 5

Make certain that you prepare or pick up all foods that can be prepared or picked up ahead of time. This will be especially helpful on party day and keep you from running around. Lastly, relax and enjoy yourself. Savor the fruits of your hard labor and mingle with your guests. Catch up on the latest news and just unwind.Don't forget to smell the flowers and bid your guests adieu!
