Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Research the laws in the state where you will be performing the wedding to determine whether ordination will be necessary.

  2. Step 2

There are various online ordination sites. Many of these services are free. The Universal Life Church is one of the most credible sites.

  3. Step 3

Complete your online ordination form. Use your legal name and be sure to fact check all information on your application. Once you complete your form you will receive a certificate that is your receipt.

  4. Step 4

Call the county clerk where the couple will be obtaining their marriage license to check that they will honor your ordination.

  5. Step 5

The fun begins! Start planning your service!
