What is the ultimate bet in poker? The ultimate bet is the largest bet you can make, be called on and win the hand. Making the ultimate bet takes a lot of planning in a game of poker. It will take playing quite a few hands, and the ability to deceive your opponents.

How To Make The Ultimate Bet In Poker

  1. Step 1

Set the groundwork for your ultimate bet by losing some hands early. If you want to win big in poker you must eliminate your opponent's ability to read the type of hand you have. To do this, lose some small hands early, play them in a style opposite of your usual style. This will start to help your opponent's get the wrong read for how you play certain hands.

  2. Step 2

Talk to your opponents, and start to annoy them just enough. When they start to get annoyed at you talking trash at the table, they are more likely to call you during a hand. They will let their ego control their betting instead of their brain. They will be doing a variation of what is known as playing "on full tilt".

  3. Step 3

Show your hand if it would have lost when all of your opponents fold after your bet. Many times your opponents will start to think they have a read on you. At that point they will fold when they think you have the winning hand. You are not obligated to show your hand if all of your opponents fold. It is a good idea to show your hand though if you have a poor holding, to lead them into thinking you make large bets as a bluff.

  4. Step 4

Go for the kill. After you can see your opponents getting frustrated after you show your hand based on tip 3, it is time to make the ultimate bet in poker. The next time you have the best hand at the table or "the nuts", go all in. One of your opponents is likely to be fed up by you winning hands with low value hands that you have shown after they folded. They will be more likely to call you. Show "the nuts" hand after your opponent calls your large bet, and enjoy winning the ultimate bet in poker.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, to win the ultimate bet in poker you must be willing to lose small pots to bait the trap. Once the trap is baited, jump on the opportunity. Patience is a virtue in winning the ultimate bet in poker.
  • Do not show your low hands all the time, only a few times when all of your opponents fold. Let them start to guess what type of hand you have and doubt their own reads of you.
