For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.-Matthew 6:14, 15 KJV
Ask for God's help. Pray that God will free your heart and mind of vengeful feelings.
Step2
Recall the times that you have been forgiven. How did it feel? Would you like to return that favor?
Step3
Remember, the clock is ticking. Tomorrow may be too late. Practice forgiveness today.
Step4
Empathize with the person you need to forgive. Okay, so your friend forgot your birthday. Why throw away an otherwise great friendship over that? Isn't she the same friend who taught you how to crochet free of charge?
Step5
Swallow your pride. Your friend forgot your birthday. Make hers unforgettable! Seeing her face light up will erase your own bithday blues!
Step6
Remember to forget. Some experts suggest that you should forgive, yet not forget. Forgiving and forgetting go hand in hand. You can't forgive if you keep rewinding a "vicious" act in your mind. Forgive the act-and forget it!
