Visit the eFax homepage and view the available plans. There are three options to choose from such as a limited free account, eFax Plus account, and an eFax Pro account. Select the best one that will suit your needs. It would largely depend on the amount of faxes you expect to receive or send in a monthly period.

Select your desired eFax plan. It will automatically direct you to the page to enter your first name, last name, and email address. You'll also have the option of finding an eFax number close to your primary phone number or zip code. However, with a free eFax plan you will only receive a non local one.

Click the activation email that was sent to your registered email address. Once you have completed this task, it will direct you to your eFax page with your newly created fax number. There will also be a pin number for you to access your online account. It's a good idea to print this page for your own personal records.

Download the free eFax Messenger software so that you'll be able to view any incoming faxes without visiting a web page. It will give you access to all of your faxes in an organized manner and will also let you easily send faxes via your paid account. The minimum requirements include a Windows 98 Operating System and higher or a Mac 8 Operating system and higher.

Login to your online eFax account if you are away from your own personal computer, but still need access. There is a useful link for sharing your brand new eFax number with others. This will come in extremely handy if you are a small business owner.

Access your faxes via the eFax Message Center. You'll be able to manage multiple folders, forward messages to alternate email addresses, or delete old faxes from this dashboard. In this section, you can also edit your profile information such as changing the registered name on the account, your contact email address, and adding your company name. After inputting this information, choose the “update” button to save these valuable changes.
