Make Aromatherapy Oil for a Steam Room

The essential oils used in a basic aromatherapy recipe can soothe cold and sinuses, heal abrasions, kill the bacteria that causes athletes foot and even soothe minor burns. The basic four essential oils are lavender, rosemary, tea tree and eucalyptus, which together can promote the healing of virtually every ailment. Use this basic aromatherapy oil combination in your steam room or shower to promote health and relaxation and ease stress and muscle pain. Here’s how to make an aromatherapy oil for use in a steam room.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 3 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 4 tbsp carrier oil (sweet almond or jojoba oil)
  • A small essential oil bottle with euro dropper
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

Mix your oils. In a bowl, combine the four essential oils to your carrier oil and quickly mix.

  2. Step 2

Store your oil. Pour the mixed oil into your small oil bottle and screw the lid on tightly.

  3. Step 3

Use in your oil. Shake the aromatherapy mixture. If you’re steam room uses hot rocks, add the oil to the water before you pour it over the rocks. If your steam room is hot-water automatic, you can add the oil to a spray bottle and spray all around the steam room. Use 5 drops of oil to every 4 cups of water.
