You will have to hike the final 1 mile to the peak.

Telescope Peak has an extremely steep grade for the last mile of ascent. If hiking during the winter you will need an ice axe, ropes and crampons. Wear winter clothing, gloves and boots. Be prepared for subfreezing temperatures during the winter months.
-
Step 10
Starting at the trail head at 8,133 feet elevation, the trail climbs steadily as it heads around the east slope of Roger's Peak. At Arcane meadows the trees become scattered as the trail levels out.

Step 11
The final ascent to Telescope Peak takes you through bristle cone pines that are mixed with limber pine. The trail then switches back up the east face. The summit is ultimately reached by traversing along a narrow ridge.
