  1. How to Install Solar Shades

    • 1

Before installing solar shades, make sure all the hardware is included. Look for brackets, nails, screws and cord guide.

    • 2

Decide how to hang the solar shades. You can attach mounting brackets inside the window frame, outside the window frame or attach the brackets to the ceiling. Use a tape measure to determine the correct bracket position. This will ensure that both sides are even after brackets are attached. Mark positions with a pencil.

    • 3

Attach both brackets using nails or screws. Brackets with one hole should be mounted on the left side of the window. Brackets with multiple holes and pins should be mounted on the right side of the window. Attach the cord guide to inside of window if mounting the shade on the inside frame or attach it to the wall if mounting the shade on the outside frame.

    • 4

Insert shade after attaching brackets and cord guide. The side of the shade that contains the cord should be attached to the left bracket. The other to the right. Insert the pin to hold the shade in place. Put the cord inside the cord guide.

    • 5

Test the shade. If the shade isn't working properly, you may need to adjust the bracket position. Check the control stop on the shade to make sure the tension on the chain is correct.
