1
Decide what bath products you would like to make. Bath products can be items such as bath salts and lotions. Both of these items are made with inexpensive products that are easy to find. Bath products can also be items such as washcloths or toothbrush holders.
-
2
Choose the color scheme of your bath products. Dye bath salts, made with a mixture of table salt, baking soda and Epsom salt, any color you like with food coloring. If you make bath salts for a gift and dye them green, then you could knit a green soap scrubber to go with it. Keeping the same color scheme throughout can help make the gift set look cohesive.

Select the aroma you, or the person you are giving the gift to, will enjoy. Add fragrance to bath products with essential oils. Essential oils are very strong so even though they are expensive you only have to use very small amounts for a large affect. Bath products should be soothing and refreshing so try scents such as peppermint, lavender or vanilla.

Research how to make the bath products. There are many websites and books available with recipes or patterns for bath products that range anywhere from bath bombs to knitting your own washcloths. Many of the recipes or patterns call for items you may already have in your house.
-
5
Pick how you will display or store your bath products. If you make a lotion with honey, vegetable oil and lemon juice, you will need to store it in a different container than if you made your own facial scrub. You can use glass jars, buy items to store your bath products in, or even make your own storage containers for your bath products.
-
6
Finish off your bath products with a decorative touch. If you make a product such as lotions or bath salts, you may want to tie the bottles with twine. You could also use ribbon to accentuate bath products like wrapping some crocheted washcloths with ribbon.

Tips & Warnings
Always use less essential oil than you think you need then add more so that you do not end up with too much.
If you are making a bath product gift for someone else, ask if the person has any allergies. You would not want to give a milk bath to someone with a dairy allergy.
