    • 1

Lie the large, fluffy towel out flat. Make sure that there are no ripples in the towel. Avoid getting any sand or other materials onto the towel.

    • 2

Make a row of shells on the edge of the towel about four inches in. Do this from the short edge of the towel. After you have the shells in a row, flip the edge of the towel over the row of shells. Tuck the edge of the towel under those shells.

    • 3

Take the roll in the towel that you just made and flip it over again. The shells are now in their own little protective cushion.

    • 4

Make a new row of shells and continue following steps four and five until you've reached the other end of the towel. Make sure to have the rolls tight enough so that it gives the shells good protection.

    • 5

When you've completely wrapped the shells, put your hands on either end of the rolled towel. Open a tote bag and place the entire rolled towel on the flat bottom of the tote bag.

    • 6

Put the tote bag on your lap on the way home so that the bag doesn't slide all over.

    • 7

When you get home and want to remove the shells from the towel, carefully remove them by opening the towel roll by roll on a flat surface.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't put the towel in the tote bag standing up. All of the shells will slip down to the edge and could break.

  • Doing this may not prevent all of the shells from getting cracked, but if done properly most of your shells, if not all, should come out in one piece.
