To buy ferrets online is easy enough to do, but one has to have as much information as possible about the ferret and its health. There are organizations that have reputable places to find ferrets and ferret breeders. Try to buy from sources that have a good reputation. Transportation is the main concern when buying a ferret online. Always make sure the ferrets are healthy and spunky.

    How to Buy Ferrets Online

  1. Step 1

Look for ferrets at The American Ferret Association. This should be the first place to stop when buying a ferret online. This site will have a list of ferrets at shelters throughout the United States and Canada.

  2. Step 2

Look at GotPetsOnline. The site has listings for small animals that include ferrets. Before buying any ferret, one must find out all the information about shots, health and ask for pictures. The picture should include a picture of the cage the ferrets lived in so one can see how clean or not clean, the cage appears.

  3. Step 3

Any ferret that needs to be shipped will require more attention when buying a ferret online from an out of state breeder. Breeders will charge the shipping fees and any fees associated with the carrier and shots that are needed for transportation.

  4. Step 4

Look for ferrets online close to your area. It is hard on pets who need to be transported by train, plane or another form of transportation. Vehicle transportation allows you to talk to the ferret and hold it if it becomes scared.

  5. Step 5

Ask as many questions as you can think about when buying a ferret online. Do not take anyone's word for the health of the ferret. Ask for documentation pertaining to the health of the ferret. Vets can supply this information. Ask for the vets name before taking the ferret.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only buy healthy ferrets from online sources.
  • If health information is not available for the ferret, do not buy it.
