How to Design Your Own Clothes Online

Have a clever slogan or fun design idea that you'd love to see on a shirt? Why not go online and make it happen! There are many companies out there that will let you print pretty much any simple design on a shirt, jacket, hat or other clothing item from your own computer.

1. Use a web search engine to find a website to design your own clothes. Type in search strings such as "design clothes online" and "design your own clothes." Several useful sites should pop up. The page You Design It (see link below) is a good choice.

2. 

   Go to the clothing design page. There will be a button on the page that allows you to start designing. On this page, scroll to the bottom and click the button marked "Design Studio."

3. Choose the item of clothing you want to work with. There are usually quite a few t shirts, sweat shirts, hats, jackets, blouses, and sometimes pants available.

4. 

   Add text and pictures to it. Most pages will have a wide selection of fonts and clip art, available in several different colors. On You Design It, you enter the text on the left and choose images on the right.

5. 

   Change the size and shape of the images and text until you get what you want. Click and drag a text or image window to move it. Click and drag the corner to resize it.

6. Design the back. Click the front/back button to switch sides. Do the back in the same way you did the front.

7. Order the design. Most sites will allow you to order one or several printings of the clothing item you just designed.

8. Save the image. If you don't want to order it, center the impress the Print Screen button on your computer. Th
