Things You'll Need:
- Bright nail polish (a solid red or pink works best)
- White nail polish
- Toothpicks
- Clear top coat
- Green nail polish
- Plastic plate
-
Step 1
Wash your child's hands thoroughly. Nail polish always looks better when the nails underneath are clean.
-
Step 2
Bright colors like this make the flower designs "pop" right off the nail.Paint on the bright lower layer. If you can still see the fingernail underneath the first coat, then add a second.
-
Step 3
Dry the nails for five minutes. You can wave your hands in the air, blow on your nails or just sit still and enjoy a movie or each other's company.
-
Step 4
Place a small dot of white nail polish in the center of the pinky nail. On very small girls, this nail may not have enough room for a flower. If it is too small, keep moving around the hand until you reach a nail that has enough room for a full flower.
-
Step 5
Dab a toothpick in the center of the white dot. It will pick up some white nail polish.
-
Step 6
White nail polish shows up best against a brighter color. Light pinks and purples make the flowers hard to detect.Use the toothpick to create five smaller dots around the bigger dot. These are the petals of the flower. You can do this on every fingernail that is big enough, or you may want to just decorate one or two on each hand.
-
Step 7
Place a small blob of green nail polish on the plastic plate. This should be a small blob, but bigger than the flower centers.
-
Step 8
Dip another toothpick in the green polish. It will pick up some of the green polish.
-
Step 9
Use the toothpick to make a green "V" underneath the white flowers. This "V" forms the flower's leaves.
-
Step 10
Coat all the nails with the clear topcoat. This will protect the design and make fingernails bright and shiny.
