How to Play a B Chord on the Ukulele

The ukulele is a famous instrument played around the world. It is most known for being played in Hawaiian Music and accompanying Hula dancers in their performances. Learn how to play a B chord on this well known and loved instrument.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
With the strings facing away from the body, hold the body of the ukulele with the right arm by placing the arm in front and holding underneath.
Step2
Hold the neck of the ukulele between the thumb and index fingers.
Step3
Place the left index finger between the first and second fret on the "E" and "A" strings or the strings that are the second to the last and last strings.
Step4
Put the left middle finger between the second and third fret on the "C" string.
Step5
With the left ring finger, hold down the "G" string between the third and fourth frets.
Step6
Press the fingers down firmly on their assigned strings only. Strum all the strings with the right hand near the center of the body of the ukulele.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Ukulele Strings from top to bottom are G, C, E and A.
  • A "fret" is the metal strip that goes across the neck of the ukulele.
