Things You'll Need:
- Calming, creamy cleanser to soothe skin
- Redness-reducing moisturizer
- Non-irritating sunscreen
- Green-toned concealer or treatment cream
- Mineral foundation or makeup

Step 1
Identify the source of inflammation. Rosy cheeks can be caused by skin sensitivities or aversions to products, so try putting skin on a “detox” plan by using products specifically created for sensitive skin. Use affordable and established brands like Cetaphil or Eucerin, and check labels to insure products are free of irritants, alcohols or acidic ingredients.

Calm skin by cleansing both morning and night with a gentle cleanser. Choose a creamy cleanser that is formulated for redness reduction. Drugstore brands will do the trick, as long as you skip varieties with rough exfoliating granules.

Moisturize skin every day with a calming and soothing lotion. Look for brands that contain green tea or olive oil, or choose lotions targeted toward inflamed skin. There are a variety of drugstore or household products created for rosacea or redness, although a dime-sized amount of household hydrocortisone cream can be applied to inflamed areas in a pinch.

Protect skin every day from further redness caused by the sun. Choose a sunscreen that is marked hypoallergenic and contains both UVA and UVB protection, or save money by purchasing a moisturizer that also contains sunscreen.

Conceal the problem. Try choosing soft green-toned concealers or treatment creams to counteract redness. Select drugstore brands of foundation and powder that are made from loose minerals (which helps prevent additional irritation from makeup).
