Doctors, scientist, and butchers traditionally wear white lab coats. These are long white lab coats that are worn in order to protect street clothes. There are two reasons that the lab coats are white and not some other color. Although stains and spills show up on the white coat, all that you need to do to clean them is to add a cup of bleach to washing machine. If you are going into the medical profession you should know that most medical facilities require doctors and surgeons to wear lab coats, the lab coats help patients distinguish between doctors, nurses, and physical therapists.

How to Buy a White Lab Coat

  1. Step 1

Search the internet. There are several online merchants and medical supply companies that sell white lab coats. In most cases the online merchants sell the lab coats at whole sale prices. Many online merchants sell their lab coats at wholesale prices.

  2. Step 2

Shop around for a medical merchandise supplier that provides their customers with free shipping if the order is over $25.00.

  3. Step 3

Look for white lab coats that are made out of cotton or linen. White lab coats that are made out of cotton or linen are both comfortable to wear and easy to clean.

  4. Step 4

Purchase more then one lab coat. You will always want to have a spare lab coat in your medical locker. This means that you will have something to change into if the one you are wearing becomes soiled.

  5. Step 5

Buy lab coats that have several large pockets. The larger the pockets the more places you will have to tuck things like pens, vaccinations, and prescription pads. Having pockets on your white lab coat means that your hands will be free.

Look for lab coats that can be closed with three or four buttons. The ability to close your white lab coat will keep your street clothes clean.

  7. Step 7
