Instructions

  1. Go Through Your Closet

    • 1

Go through your closets and drawers and pull out everything that is a winter item. This can be difficult for some people because they don't want to put anything away and out of site. Take an entire afternoon to do this so that you can properly go through all of the clothes.

    • 2

Don't pack away everything. Take a good look at the items. If there are items that you do not wear any longer, or just do not want to keep, give them away. You could possibly have a yard sale, but most people might simply choose to give them to charity and get them out of the way.

    • 3

Divide the clothes into clothing groups so that they are easily accessed and found next year. Put pants with pants, shirts with shirts, and so on. This will make it much easier when you go to unpack them for the winter season.

    • 4

Storing winter clothes can be bulky. Try purchasing large storage bags that can be deflated. These bags can be attached to a vacuum cleaner hose and all of the air taken out of the bag. This will help you place the filled bag into a tighter spot and allow you to store more items.

Concentrate: Once you have placed all of the items that you plan on storing into storage bags, concentrate on the spaces you have left. If you have a good amount of space under your bed, try using under the bed storage boxes. These storage boxes normally hold quite a few items and also offer convenient access to them. Purchase the under the bed storage boxes that have lids with them, this will allow you to keep your clothes dust free throughout the spring and summer months.
