How to Install Pool Shades

Instructions

1. Take the pool shade and examine the pool area to see the position it will do you the most good in. You have to protect your pool from the sun, so the position that the shade will be able to block the most sun in, is the position you choose. You know the pattern of the sun and what it does to your house.

2. Try to put the poles of the pool shade in different positions to see how it will work. The pool shades have to be installed just right for them to work well. When you finally find the best position, mark the position on the ground with a stone.

3. Dig holes in the ground at the places you have marked. Use an augur, as you do not want them very wide. Dig to a depth of about 5 feet on two sides to accommodate both the poles. Put the poles in side to see if the holes are big enough.

4. Pour cement into the holes after putting in the poles to the right height. Let the cement come up to the level of the ground and then let them dry for at least 24 hours. More if you don’t use quick drying cement. Once the cement is dry you can use them.

5. Readying the pool shade for installation is important. You want to apply some oil on the poles so the pool shade will install easily. Pull the pool shade down on the poles and bring it into position. Once the pool shade is in place it should reduce the heat considerably.

6. Alternatively, there are many kinds of pool shades, one uses water itself, to hold its 4 feet on the sides of the pool. In its case fill water in the feet and then slide the pool shade to where you want it to protect you the most. It creates a kind of roof on your pool, and thus keeps it cool.

7. Use a pool shade for keeping your pool and yourself cool, as it helps your pool have a longer lasting life too. You also do not have to be in the sun when you are swimming.
