Instructions

1. Buy some construction paper, stickers, stampers, and markers or crayons. Create a handmade birthday card using some of your favorite greetings or create your own. Decorate your card with stickers, stamps, glitter and markers.

2. Take some favorite photos from the birthday person. Decide on a theme such as family, friends or birthday. Use some construction paper or decorated paper that you can buy at the scrapbook store. Find some stickers to match the theme. Add a small story or description to go with the page and add to it. Create a scrapbook page that you might put into a book, and then frame it. This would make a great keepsake that can be displayed anywhere in the home or even as an office desk decoration.

3. Visit your local Dollar General store or Dollar Tree. Look for a blank glass mug. Purchase some paints and a paintbrush to use on the glass mug. Pain the birthday person's name across it and add a few decorations to make a personalized mug. Sometimes the paint may not make it dishwasher safe, so the mug could mainly be used for decoration or storage use.

4. Write a personal poem or mini story to the person celebrating their birthday. Write why they are special, and include and fun facts or history about them. Make it personal and even humorous if you would like. Have it typed on some colorful or designer printer paper. Include some clip art or a photo of the person as well. Present the poem in a frame for a gift.

5. Use your computer to make a mini movie of the person's life. Try using software such as Windows Movie Maker. Gather pictures of the person from childhood to growing up, and then include other important events or humorous pictures. You can use the scanner to upload the pictures to your computer. Set the movie to some fun music. This gift is great to share at parties for everybody to watch-especially at surprise birthday parties or milestone birthday parties such as 10, 16, 21, 30, 50, etc.
