Visit a store that sells hidden cameras. There are a few spy stores that sell items online as well. Read customer reviews of each device you're interested in to make sure you buy a nanny cam that has been known to work well.

Choose a nanny cam that won't look out of place in each room. There are some that look like clocks and air fresheners that won't look suspicious. A wireless nanny cam is probably going to work best and can be so tiny that you can fit it in stuffed animals.

Set up the nanny cam in the room so that you can get the best angle and allows you to see as much of the room as possible. If your nanny cam has come with a wireless transmitter, these can easily be placed in your closet.

Install the nanny cam, which may be done automatically by the wireless transmitter and recording device. The transmitter will seek a camera within its range and start recording. If it doesn't, make sure that the camera is within the range allowed by the device.
