Used crushed licorice root rather than powdered so that you can strain out the chunks.

Steep the licorice root for 20 minutes. This will create a soothing infusion that will help heal your gums.

Strain out the licorice root. You can catch the "tea" in the plastic bottle, which will be perfect for storing your rinse.

    • 4

Cool the infusion to room temperature. This may take as much as an hour.

    • 5

Rinse your mouth with the licorice infusion. You should do this at least three times a day. You can rinse more often if your irritated gums require additional relief.
