These nifty little coverups will keep kids dry on the beach or right out of the tub. The towels you use come in many fun children’s patterns and colors. Experiment and see what fun patterns you can come up with.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Wash towels before starting this project.
Step2
Lay the larger towel out flat on a table and smooth until there are no wrinkles. Lay the hand towel on top of the towel. Fold the corners of the beach towel and the hand towel, aligning the two sides of the towels.
Step3
Pin the edges together with straight pins. Sew the edges together with a double stitch.
Step4
Fold back the remaining two sides of the hand towel to form a hood.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a simple button or piece of Velcro to the front of the coverup to keep it secure.
  • If you are making a coverup for a baby or small child, substitute a washcloth for the hand towel and a standard towel for the beach towel.
