Things You'll Need:
- Knife block
- Spray bottle
- Bleach
- Water
-
Step 1
Hand wash all your knives by hand. Let them air dry on their own. If you put your knives into your wood block dirty, food will get trapped and cause a bacterial growth.
-
Step 2
Dump your knife block upside down so the slots for the knives are facing downward. Shake all the crumbs you can from the knive block.
-
Step 3
Take a computer key cleaner that blows a short blast of air and spray into the slots. This should get more crumbs out.
-
Step 4
Add one teaspoon of bleach to a quart spray bottle and spray this bleach water into the holes of the knife block.
-
Step 5
Spray water from your kitchen sink or garden hose into the slots where knives are kept and rinse off the bleach.
-
Step 6
Air dry the knife block on your kitchen counter.
