Try on-line auctions. A good place to look is ebay where you can find luxury jewelry at very good prices. There are many on-line auction sites offering these same services. Try bidz.com or ubid.com or even portero.com. Some of these sites (not eBay) even verify the authenticity of any of the items they sell which is adds to the peace of mind of the buyer.

    • 3

Try out Overstock.com. Overstock liquidates excess inventory from many different business and there are some amazing buys on luxury jewelry.

    • 4

Try local jewelers. Local jewelers, who sell many different brands, will also take in used or vintage jewelry from their customers and sell it on consignment. You will find this jewelry in a display case much like all of their other items. If you do not see it right away, then ask the sales associate.

Visit estate sales. There are amazing deals to be had on luxury jewelry by visiting an estate sale. While you will be limited in choices, hit a few sales every weekend and look for the ones in the newspaper that state they will have jewelry. Tips & Warnings

  • If you find a reputable seller, continue to do business with him whenever possible. You will get better deals by becoming a repeat customer.

  • Although it is a well known fact that most luxury jewelers do not discount or offer their products at sales prices, some jewelers will sell the used jewelry of their repeat customers. It is worth calling your local or favorite luxury jeweler to ask if they have any used pieces for sale.

  • Live auctions are another route to go but you generally will not get that great of a deal. Expect to pay just a little less than retail.

  • Ask the seller for serial numbers or a guarantee of authenticity. Ask what the refund policy is in case the jewelry turns out not to be authentic.

  • Always have jewelry appraised or ask for an appraisal before you buy. This will prevent you from paying too much for something that may be over-valued by the seller.
