Tips & Warnings
If you find a reputable seller, continue to do business with him whenever possible. You will get better deals by becoming a repeat customer.
Although it is a well known fact that most luxury jewelers do not discount or offer their products at sales prices, some jewelers will sell the used jewelry of their repeat customers. It is worth calling your local or favorite luxury jeweler to ask if they have any used pieces for sale.
Live auctions are another route to go but you generally will not get that great of a deal. Expect to pay just a little less than retail.
Ask the seller for serial numbers or a guarantee of authenticity. Ask what the refund policy is in case the jewelry turns out not to be authentic.
Always have jewelry appraised or ask for an appraisal before you buy. This will prevent you from paying too much for something that may be over-valued by the seller.
