How to Spot a Fake Prada Bag
Because Prada bags are so expensive, plenty of people sell fake versions of them. You can tell if a bag is fake in several ways. Examining a bag closely will reveal whether the bag is a Prada or a fake. Does this Spark an idea?

Examine the handbag's stitching. A fake Prada purse will have stitching that is messy, misaligned or too obvious. Prada stitching is small, neat and aligned.

Check the inside lining of the Prada bag. The lining should be black with the Prada logo printed on it in a contrasting black color. If the inside lining is any other color or has a pattern, the bag is a fake. Some fake Prada bags have a lining that looks very similar but has a different word printed on it. Sometimes the word "Prada" may be misspelled.

See if the inside lining has a small metal tag that says "Prada Made in Italy." A plastic or fabric tag is a sign of a fake Prada. If the tag says anything other than the correct phrase, the bag is a fake.

Find out if the bag comes with a dustbag and authenticity cards. The dustbag should be white with the Prada logo printed in black. The authenticity cards come in a small black envelope. Each card has a serial number and the name of the purse style. If the dustbag looks different or is not present with a new bag, the bag is a fake. If the bag is used, the cards and dustbag may not have been kept by the original owner.

I think it would be nice to include that many of these things do not apply to nylon Prada bags, such as lining. Mine is real and it has no lining.

Hi all, I found a Prada back pack today. It's black and cream, has the upside down triangle Prada symbol on the front in the center. The black is the same black as the color of the purse. The inside however, the lining does not say Prada isi just plain black. On the inside zipper pocket, there is a black tab that is plain as well. The tab is of the same material as the purse as well. Just trying to figure out if it is real or fake. Everything I have read stats the lining should say Prada.

Marion Brown Unsure, take it to a prada shop for authentication. Look at the quality of the metal badge inside more than the colour, does the prada letters feel a bit higher than the background, does it look well made?

Margo Gilbert although there is a large markup, its like buying a chinese car compared to a german car/italian. You pay for quality. They often replace the quality of leather with cheap pork leather, such as the LV bags. Prada has shot up in recent years and is often not worth the cost, but you do pay for that something special. Chinese copy's find it very hard to do any of the nice prada stuff, like the Patent leather or calf leather as it atually requires good quality leather that cost a fair amount anyway.
