4. Take a trip to Venice Beach during the day on the 4th of July for the Mr. and Mrs. Muscle Beach parade. Every July 4th, Venice's quirkiest residents gather around to claim the title of the man and woman with the biggest and most sculpted muscles on the beach.

5. Start your independence day in Leimert Park in Los Angeles for the annual 4th of July Jazz and Blues Festival.
