Lose Weight by Moderating Carbohydrates

If you’ve tried every fad diet and haven’t been able to lose weight, maybe it’s time for you to moderate your carbohydrate intake. It’s not difficult to do once you get the hang of it. Over time, you’ll see the weight drop off.

Instructions

    • 1

Understand the difference between a carbohydrate, a protein and a fat. Many people try to moderate their carbohydrate intake, but they fail to truly identify the food group to moderate. Do a little homework to make sure you understand the difference. While you’re at it, learn the difference between a naturally occurring carbohydrate and a man-made processed carbohydrate.

    • 2

Cut out all processed carbohydrates. Although carbohydrate gets a bad rap, most naturally occurring carbohydrates are good for you. It's the processed, carbohydrates that caused the problem. Stay away from the high-fat, high-salt and highly sugared processed carbohydrates.

    • 3

Moderate your carbohydrate portions. If totally cutting out carbohydrate seems impossible, then watch your portions. Start by reducing them by 85% the first week then 75% the next week and so on until you’ve modified your portion size to support weight loss.

    • 4

Watch when you eat your carbohydrates. If you absolutely must have carbohydrates, it's best to eat them earlier in the day. Eating them early in the day gives your body time to burn them off before the end of the day.

    • 5

Work both ends by increasing your activity. Moderating the carbohydrates is great, but you will lose weight faster if you exercise more. If you’re not in tip top marathon shape, don’t despair. Start small. Do what you can and increase it slowly over time.
