Humiliation is best when you can look back on it as a challenged lived through with humor.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A good sense of humor.
  • Accept humiliaton happens to everyone.
  • Plan for laughter and play for it.
  1. Step 1

Humiliation, accidents, slips, falls, jokes are all part of the human experience and there is no way to escape it. So you will survive it all a lot easier if you learn to laugh at it and accept the fact the others are going to laugh too. Don't worry. You'll get your chance to be the one laughing a lot of times.

  2. Step 2

Think of anything that happens as slap stick comedy. It's funny if it happens to someone else, well learn to see the humor when it happens to you. Learn to make comments about your problems and play it for the audience and don't feel bad at all.

  3. Step 3

Example. I picked up a huge stuffed rabbit at a yard sale full of people. But I didn't know it wasn't connected in the middle and it fell in half right there. Everyone looked at me, I made a sad face and said, " I killed the bunny!" and pretended I felt really bad. They all laughed with me, so I came out ahead and everyone, including me was happy.

  4. Step 4

Sometimes it doesn't feel very funny. It hurts. But changing it to humor helps you heal sooner and better for your own mental heath. If you are going to slip and fall try for a direction of one of the men if you are female. Or if you are already on the ground look for the best looking and ask them for help. Make funny happy eyes while they help you up so everyone can laugh at what you are doing and not at what happened to you.

  5. Step 5

Choose in your mind to become the center of attention for a good reason since you cannot avoid it. Cry if you must, but comment at the same time about something funny. Like "I hurt my pride and need someone to kiss it! Does anyone want to know where it is?" This alone will bring a laugh for a whole different reason.

  6. Step 6

Always try to find just a tiny bit of humor in something bad so it helps for everyone to become comfortable again. They will love you for and give you as many hugs are you need to survive. Their turn will come.

  7. Step 7

If someone is laughing at you and being mean about it then turn it on them. Tell them and everyone around how good you were at not laughing when the mean one wet his pants a few weeks ago. It doesn't matter if he did or not, but it's then up to him to convince of the truth. You can always turn it around and make them the focus of humor.

  8. Step 8

Don't let yourself feel bad in your own mind about what has happened. Life happens and goes on no matter what. Soon your incident will be old news and it will be on to the next laugh at someone else's expense. Keep your humor and tell yourself it's ok to laugh, even at others.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do feel bad about what happens to you.
  • Learn to make a joke of your situation.
  • Learn to be the center of attention by your own choice.
  • Don't laugh at someone else who gets hurt. It's their job to decide if there is humor.
  • Don't cry. It's going to pass soon enough on to something else.
