How to Filter Cooking Oil
The cost of cooking oil can be quite expensive. This is especially true if you own a large deep fryer. In order to save money, it's important to filter your cooking oil so that you can reuse it. Even if you need to filter a large amount, the process is still very easy. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Let the oil cool. It's never safe to move oil around if it's hot. Be sure to let it cool thoroughly before attempting to filter it.
-
2
Line the strainer with the cheese cloth. The cheese cloth will catch the smaller particles that would otherwise slip through the strainer. This ensures that your cooking oil is as clean as possible.

3
Hook the strainer to the container. Because deep fryer reservoirs are so large, you will need both hands to pour the cooking oil through the strainer. A strainer with hooks makes it easy to attach it to a large container. You need to make sure the container is large enough to hold the amount of cooking oil that is in your deep fryer. A large, plastic pitcher works best.
-
4
Pour the oil into the strainer. Slowly pour the cooking oil through the strainer. If you pour too quickly, the bits of food may clog your strainer and cause it to overflow. As you filter your cooking oil, you may need to use a spoon to remove bits of food from the strainer.

Tips & Warnings
If your deep fryer is too heavy to pick up, use a ladle to filter your cooking oil through the cheese cloth.
If you don't have a strainer with hooks, have someone hold the strainer over the container while you pour.
Be sure to store your oil in an airtight container so that it doesn't go rancid.
Always reheat used cooking oil.

Thanks, but I am actually looking for a filter that can be used after pressing oil from the seed to make it suitable as a cooking oil for the first time. Perhaps the filter for recycling cooking oil would do the job, but I don't know if it is designed to handle the kinds of "impurities" that are in freshly pressed oil. Do you? -

Does anyone know how to filter oil, fresh pressed from seeds, to make it clean enough to sell as cooking oil?
