Things You'll Need:

  • You will need a friendly staff to develop a positive relationship with local and regional businesses.
  1. Step 1

    Call the Company and ask for the donation department and the name of the person in charge of making donations.

  2. Step 2

    Share a professional and friendly introduction about your organization and needs.

  3. Step 3

    Request steps needed in asking for a donation of product, equipment, or money.

  4. Step 4

    Follow the company's direction. This may include: (a)Writing a short letter or request with your organization's EIN tax ID number asking for a specific donation and sharing how you will acknowledge their company for their generosity.(b) Including specific document such as a list of board of directors and your 501(c)(3) nonprofit papers.
