How to Draw Sonic the Hedgehog and Friends
Drawing Sonic the Hedgehog and friends can be a simple project if you break down the characters into parts and use basic shapes you already know. You will be able to draw a Sonic the Hedgehog that's like the real character.
Instructions
-
-
1
Draw a circle for Sonic's head, and make a few marks with a pencil to indicate where the eyes and ears will be. Draw another oval to depict the mouth.
-
2
Create Sonic the Hedgehog's body by drawing a long oval that is about 1 1/4 times the diameter of the circle. Then draw another oval inside this oval to depict the stomach.
-
-
3
Draw lines to establish the legs and arms, and then draw circles to depict the hands and feet.
-
4
Draw two triangles for the ears on each side of the head at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions; be sure the ears add depth and define the circle as a sphere. Draw two more slender triangles to define the back of the ears and give them their pyramid shape. Fill in the ears to add shadow. (For Amy, you will draw three more triangles in the center of the head to depict her hair.)
-
5
Add the hands and boots to your Sonic the Hedgehog and friends. The boots are simple triangles that are bowed or rounded. Each one should point at a slightly different direction, away from the center of the body. Draw two ovals around the base of the legs and connect them with lines to form the top of the boots.

Tips & Warnings
If your Sonic the Hedgehog and friends don't look like the real characters, look at pictures and correct the parts that are not quite right.
Sonic-X characters have a darker appeal if you want to draw the more mature-looking characters.
