Giving feedback is an essential part of the work environment. It is important to give feedback constructively so that it will have an impact.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be as specific as possible in giving your feedback. This will clear up any confusion that could occur.

  2. Step 2

Don't be judgmental in offering constructive feedback. Yes, you may need to give your opinion, but it is important to remain nice about it.

  3. Step 3

Give the feedback in person, if possible.

  4. Step 4

Point out good things as well as the bad. It's a good tactic to start out with a positive feedback and then move to negative feedback.

  5. Step 5

Remain positive even when giving negative feedback. If you must give negative feedback, mention how that particular thing can be improved.

  6. Step 6

Get to the point. There is no point in dragging it out. It will probably make the receiver of the feedback nervous if you drag it out.

  7. Step 7

Be honest and unbiased. This is important in order to give effective feedback.
