Instructions

    • 1

Begin by gathering your equipment and heating up your iron whether it is a Marcel iron or electric iron. Determine the amount of wave or curl you want in your hair.

    • 2

Part off the hair in sections to be waved or curled. You want to start off with the hair either on the sides or in the back. This way you won't be messing up the wave you have already put in your hair when parting off smaller sections for waving. Begin parting the hair in one section into smaller sections. These sections should be no thicker than 1/4 of an inch.

    • 3

Using the size and style of iron you have chosen, pull the 1/4 inch section straight up. Place the iron towards the bottom of the strand. Close the shell around the hair, and pull the iron up to the ends of the strand.

    • 4

Roll the iron down the strand of hair, and hold it in place until the outside of the hair begins to get hot. When the outside of the hair begins to get hot, release the iron. Let the hair slip form the rod and shell.

    • 5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all sections of hair are complete.

    • 6

Take your brush, and style in the manner you would like.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure hair is completely dry before attempting to wave or curl your hair. If you want a looser curl or wave, use a larger iron. For a tighter curl or wave, use a smaller iron.

  • Do not attempt to use a marcel or electric curling iron on wet hair. It will create steam and burn your scalp!
