How to customize a Joomla Template

You have downloaded trillions of free Joomla templates and when uploaded, you cannot change the graphics because you cannot change the files permission. But the change starts before you upload the template.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Downloaded zip template
• Computer
• Graphics program such as Corel photo paint

1. Download the template you want.

2. In windows explorer, right click on the zip folder, copy and paste.
   
   You will have a file called "copy of your zip folder"
   
   Extract all files of the copy.

3. Locate the graphics or images folder and change the graphics with what you want. Using you graphics software. Very important to keep the dimensions the same as the original. Use the "safe as" function and save it as the graphic that you are going to upload.

4. Now select all the files that you've changed, double click on your original sip file and keep on double clicking until you locate the graphics/images folder. Paste your graphics in the folder. And upload!

Tips & Warnings

• Remember to keep dimensions of the graphics you replace with, the same as the original image.
• The extension must also be the same.
• When starting you site, change your permission of configuration to 777, make desired changes, and go and change it back to what it was.
• Remember to make use of Captcha.
