Things You'll Need:
- Curling iron
- Styling product (Curl creme, smoothing creme, mousse, & hairspray)
- Large tooth comb
- Sectioning clips
-
Step 1
On pre-cleansed hair apply smoothing products and dry the hair as smooth as possible. Not completely straight, but keep the air flow of the blow dryer moving down so as not to encourage frizzing in the hair.
-
Step 2
Section the hair into 4 sections and keep separated with sectioning clips. This is to make it easier for you when curling the hair.
-
Step 3
Starting in the back sections, randomly curl sections of hair. The smaller the section the more curl you will have. Leave out some hair in between section (very little). Visually when you are done you will not see this hair it will add to the overall texture.
-
Step 4
Continue curling the hair like this through the front sections. In the front hairline do not curl the hair to the scalp, but stay about 2-3 inches off of the scalp. This will give a more natural look in this area.
-
Step 5
When finished curling spray the curls with a finishing hairspray to get a stronger hold, without the crunch- keep the can 10-12” away from the hair when spraying.
-
Step 6
This look can be pulled up to create a curly updo in addition to being worn down for a natural curl look.
