Each spring, it seems, brings about a flurry of wedding invitations. While watching as your friends or loved ones celebrate their love is a wonderful experience, it can wreck even the healthiest of bank accounts. So, to beat the credit crunch while showing how much you care, its best to buy inexpensive (but thoughtful) wedding presents.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Financial Planning
  • Imagination
  1. Step 1

Know your limits! Just because you have been invited to an extravagant wedding does not necessarily mean you need to shell out an exorbitant amount on wedding presents. This is especially important to understand if you have several weddings on your calendar. Always set a budget that you can afford.

  2. Step 2

Creativity pays dividends! An inexpensive wedding present does not have to be thoughtless. With a bit of imagination you can create a fantastic and touching present which has that personal touch. If you are close to the couple and have time on your hands, why not create a scrapbook or photo album of special times you have shared with them? Photographs can be printed on just about anything nowadays, so how about printing your favourite image of them on canvas?

  3. Step 3

If you are not very close to the couple, turn to the bridal registry for guidance on buying inexpensive wedding presents. Most couples have their lists tailored for every price range. This way you'll know that you have got them a present that is good for them, as well as your budget!

  4. Step 4

While bridal registries can assist you with gift purchasing, there are bound to be other presents a couple will enjoy together. If they have a shared interest, why not opt for a magazine subscription or membership to a club they can share?

  5. Step 5

To take the sting out of wedding gift shopping, why not team up with friends, work colleagues or family to purchase a pricier present together? This will allow you to get a present with the 'wow' factor while keeping your bank balance reasonably healthy.

  6. Step 6

If you are still feeling stuck, consider gifting the couple with a present that keeps on giving: you! If you have a service or talent that they might be able to utilize, why not give them that? Whether you offer to film their wedding, snap photographs, create centerpieces or even landscape a flowerbed, this will be greatly appreciated by the couple. By thinking outside of the 'norm' presents, you will be able to provide an incredibly thoughtful (and inexpensive) wedding present that will be cherished for years to come.

  7. Step 7

Regifting should be a last resort really....reserved for those who find that they have limited creativity and even more limited funds. However, always ensure you gift the present in its orginal (and pristine) packaging.

  8. Step 8

And last, but not least....if you are going to give an inexpensive wedding present, make sure it is presented well! To give that personal touch why not handcraft a card using a cherished photograph?

We're getting married in April (hopefully warm weather!) and we've found pretty much everything we need at this site and talk about inexpensive wedding favors! They have everything for bridal showers and weddings that you need, and a lot of great ideas.
