In the game of basketball, core strength and dribbling skills are important for every player to possess. This article focuses on an exercise that improves both core strength and dribbling skills: DRIBBLE SIT-UPS.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Basketball
  • Flat, hard surface
  1. Step 1

    Start lying on your back with knees bent and the basketball next to your hip.

  2. Step 2

    While lying on your back, start dribbling.

  3. Step 3

    Keep your dribbling going and begin to do a sit-up.

  4. Step 4

    As you are sitting up, dribble the ball around to the front of your body and in front of your feet.

  5. Step 5

    Once you get the ball between your feet, switch your dribble to the other hand.

  6. Step 6

    After you switch hands, keep dribbling up the other side of your body while you are lying back down to complete you first sit-up.

  7. Step 7

    Continue sitting up while dribbling towards the middle of your body and lying down as you are dribbling down the other side.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the dribble on your fingertips.
  • Start slowly and then build your speed.
  • Don't watch the ball; keep your head up.
