decorate and add color to your big kids room

Girl's love color! Here are some easy tips that will add color and excitement to your big kids room and transform it into a space that she will love.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

A great way to decorate her room with color is to simply place colored vases on a shelf.

Visit yard sales and flea markets together to find vases. This is a great way to find unique vases and spend time together in the process.

  2. Step 2

Wall Flowers can add color and transform any kids room. This project takes a little more skill but you can do it!

    You will need:

    Craft paint & brushes
Flower stencils ( if your brave enough try it freehand.)

    How to:
    1. Pick 1 wall for flowers or do a border around the room.

    * For added color you can paint 1 wall a different color than the rest of the walls and add the flowers to that wall. (Ex. If the room is pink paint 1 wall a pastel green.)

    * If flowers are not your thing then try painting circles, squares or triangles on the wall. (for perfect shapes you can trace bowls, cake pans or any other items you can find around the house)then paint inside the shapes.
    Have fun!

  3. Step 3

By painting a sky on the ceiling you not only add color to the room but you add depth and dimension.

    You will need:
1 gallon of flat paint.(sky blue)
    White craft paint
    a sponge
    Painters tape

    How to:
    1. Tape the walls at the edge where the ceiling meets the wall
    2. Paint the ceiling with the sky blue paint
    3. Dip sponge into white craft paint and rub on paper towel to remove the excess
    4. Paint clouds on the ceiling with sponge
    Tips.

    * If you want to get really creative you can use glow in the dark paint for the clouds.

  4. Step 4

    Colored Canvas

    You will need:
4 to 6 Canvas boards ( sold in craft stores)
    acrylic paints

    How to:

1.paint canvas boards different colors. Get creative by adding different colors on one board or keep it simple by painting each board a different color.
    2. Hang canvas boards on wall next to each other. Place them to form a square pattern on the wall or hang them in a row next to each other.

Tip: Be sure to keep the canvas boards together on the same wall .This gives a better effect of color.

However you display them you will add color and creativity.
